Step 186: The Paradox of Waiting

“Ego is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity.”  ~Booker T. Washington

Absence of an event can bring as much information as its presence. There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.  Some parts of life’s journey are made alone – it’s “my walk to walk.”  No one can do it for us.  The busy-bee Mind has a vast arsenal of tools at its disposal – shame – guilt – fear – impatience – judgmentFor today – remember that we get ahead of ourselves when Monkey Mind is running the show.  It sets up a vicious cycle.  Waiting is part of life – and as Tom Petty sang, “it’s the hardest part.”  If something is bothering you or you’re obsessing over – STOP – start investigating.  Get to the source of the ‘thought.‘  It’s just like getting a thorn in your foot. It might take some digging to get it out.  When we’re forced to ‘wait‘ it usually means that deep change is CHURNING below.  Chances are it has to do with trying to control an outcome.  People get frustrated and angry when they believe they have no control.  The ONLY thing “I” can control is “me” and how “I” respond/react to life.  Take a deep breath – exhale slowly.  Do no harm – take no sh*t.  Clear the decks – secure your ‘load’ – check relationships with self and others.  Allow  “Internal Light” to activate the S/Hero to lead the wayYou are so much stronger than you knowRecognize the Paradox playing outAll is well!   ❤
