The Liar’s Paradox (Sutherland Careers)
What is it? More famously known as the Epimenides paradox, this is one of the oldest known paradoxes having been first suggested circa 600BC. Greek Philosopher Eubulides of Miletus postulated “A man says that he is lying. Is what he says true or false?” The basic premise of this paradox is – “This statement is false.”
Wait, What? If “This statement is false” is true, then “This statement is false” is true. Therefore “This statement is false” must be false. The hypothesis that “This statement is false” is true leads to the conclusion that “This statement is false” is false, which is a contradiction.
To put it in simpler terms, I will assign the coefficient of (A) to the statement “This statement is false” which gives us:
If (A) is true, then (A) is true. Therefore (A) must be false. The hypothesis that (A) is true leads to the conclusion that (A) is false, which is a contradiction. Think that is confusing? We are just getting started!

Relationships offer an individual a “mirror” through “other” to experience “my-Soul-Self.” Integrity is THE currency. Relationship is the space between the Creator and the Created (my Soul). Think back to January 1, 2019. Relationships often bring to the surface our earliest patterns of Re-Lating – “shame, guilt and abandonment.” We’re often considered a “failure” if we don’t know what we’re doing. That’s our Culture. For today – consider that death is necessary for anything NEW to emerge. Consider that “doubt and uncertainty” can be powerful allies – when we are NOT influenced by our Culture. Slow down. Re-Imagine relationship with another who is “different.” How boring life would be – if everyone was just like “me.” The question for today is – – – “do I still want to be dealing with this in January 2020?” It could be a “watershed moment.” Adjust as needed. Everything is right on time! All is well! ❤
“Hypermnesia – (noun) – abnormally vivid or complete memory or recall of the past.”
“Convergence – (n) – the act of moving toward union; coordinated movement of the two eyes so that the image of a single point is formed on corresponding retinal areas; independent development of similar characters (as of a bodily structure of unrelated organisms or cultural traits) often associated with similarity of habits or environment.”
Let’s celebrate our mistakes. “I AM the meaning in my life.” Reality checkpoint. Hypothesis or Hypocrisy. Substance or Illusion. Ideal or Practical Reality. Rams and Goats. Insecurity creates doubt. Molehills can turn into mountains. We are each tasked to now work at a pace that is required – not easy in the best of times. Healing starts with self-forgiveness. The question is “which pieces do I pick up” in the aftermath of Humpty-Dumpty’s great fall? Avoid myth. Investigate. Make no assumptions. Balance – Balance – Balance. We’re right on time. Let’s look out for one another. All is well. ❤
